Two excellent football teams slugged it out in the first half in Mercedes-Benz Stadium. As is so often the case the team that blocked and tackled better is the one with the halftime lead, as the Tide hold a 17-7 advantage after two quarters.
The Tide have only a 171 to 143 advantage in yardage, but they’ve taken advantage of good field position and put points on the board in the red zone.
Georgia on the other hand, after cutting through the Tide defense on their first drive, have moved only sporadically. Some of that was left tackle Amarius Mims going down with a leg injury.
