ATLANTA, Ga. — Georgia has struggled with consistency when running the ball this season, with much of the blame falling on the offensive line.
SEC Network analyst Marcus Spears believes he has an explanation for the offensive line’s play, citing one big problem from what he has seen on film.
“Not physical (enough),” Spears told Gridiron Now. “They want to be. I don’t think they have enough rocks in their pocket yet. I think some guys need to grow up and get another year in the weight room.”
Spears said Georgia has not changed its scheme under first-year coach Kirby Smart from what has made the Bulldogs successful over the years on the offensive front, but the continuity of the group and style of play has not helped them this season.
