With victories by Nic Fink and Hali Flickinger, the University of Georgia swimming team continued its outstanding run at the United States Olympic Swimming Team Trials Thursday evening at the CHI Health Center Arena.
In his final attempt to make Team USA, Fink pulled ahead in the final 50 meters of the 200-meter breaststroke final, earning the automatic berth with a personal-best time of 2:07.55. ABSC teammate Andrew Wilson followed Fink in second, adding a second event to his Olympic program with a time of 2:08.32. Fellow ProDawg Kevin Cordes placed fourth with a mark of 2:10.06.
Later in the session, Flickinger used a strong second half to prevail in the 200-meter butterfly final with a time of 2:05.
