With just over three minutes to go in Georgia’s win over Auburn, the Dawgs held a 27-10 lead facing a fourth down from the Tigers’ 14 yard line.
Out came the field goal unit to attempt to extend Georgia’s lead to 30-10. But nope, instead Kirby Smart called a trick play that resulted in Rodrigo Blankenship missing an open Isaac Nauta in the end zone. Fake field goal failed. Nonetheless, Georgia would still go on to win 27-10.
It was Blankenship’s first career pass attempt, and though it was not really a much needed one, it was still fun to see Hot Rod wind up and toss the rock.
