It wasn’t a great afternoon for Georgia kicker Rodrigo Blanknship.
He hit his first field goal attempt of the day, a 50 yarder to put Georgia on top 3-0. But just before halftime, he had a 53 yard kick blocked that would have made the score 17-13 going into the locker rooms.
After head coach Kirby Smart declined to put him in for a chance to win the game with a long field goal at the end of regulation, Blankenship then missed a 42 yard field goal in double overtime that would have tied the game and sent it to a third extra period.
