But Riley Ridley, a four-star true freshman who enrolled at Georgia in January, is making a good first impression on Bulldogs coach Kirby Smart.
“He’s a competitive kid and he’s tough,” Smart said Saturday after a Bulldogs scrimmage. “He’s got to work on his vertical speed; he’s not a super-fast guy. But he’s a kid from south Florida that is not afraid to compete. He blocks. He tries really hard, and it’s important to him that he does well.”
Ridley — who was known as Cavin Ridley in high school — has been working with the second and third units during the past few weeks, but given the dearth of proven talent at wide receiver for the Bulldogs – they have just one returning wide receiver (Terry Godwin) who had more than 12 receptions last season – that obviously could change.
