Former Georgia Bulldog tight end Ben Watson may be headed towards a broadcasting career.
According to Michael McCarthy of Sporting News, ESPN is eyeing Watson for a TV role now that the tight end has retired from a 15 year NFL career.
With ESPN recently parting ways with Charles Woodson after three seasons on “Sunday NFL Countdown,” McCarthy speculated that Watson could slide into the same position.
Watson is viewed as one of the NFL’s most articulate, engaging players. A repeat nominee for the Walter Payton Man of the Year award, he made waves on a CBS Sports panel discussing the state of the league prior to Super Bowl LIII:
Watson has played for the Saints, Ravens, Browns and Patriots throughout his career, which has seen him record nearly 6,000 yards and 44 touchdowns.
