RB James Cook Suspended First Half Of Georgia Vs. South Carolina Game

Georgia freshman running back James Cook will be suspended for the first half of next week’s game against South Carolina.

In the fourth quarter, Cook, who is a 5-star back out of Miami, was called for a punt-catch-interference and targeting penalty after delivering a huge hit on Austin Peay’s punt returner, who had called for a fair catch.

The targeting call was confirmed, meaning Cook was ejected from the Austin Peay game and will miss the first half of the South Carolina game next Saturday in Columbia.

Cook got his career off to a solid start today, rushing 6 times for 66 yards.
