New Manchester High running back Brian Herrien met with Georgia coach Kirby Smart and assistants over the weekend in Athens ahead of his 2 p.m. signing ceremony Tuesday at the Douglasville school.
Herrien will be on scholarship with the Bulldogs, his former coach Rob Cleveland confirmed Monday. He won’t sign a letter of intent since that period for football ended on April 1.
“We confirmed last Friday that he was eligible to sign a scholarship,” said Cleveland, who still teaches at the school. “They set up something with Brian for Saturday to go over the transcript one more time to make sure it matched up and it did.
