The University of Georgia has another national champion.
Men’s tennis redshirt freshman Ethan Quinn won the 2023 NCAA Singles National Championship on Saturday, coming back to beat Michigan’s Ondrej Styler, 6-7 (2), 7-6 (5), 6-2.
Quinn stood firm in the second set, saving four match points before winning 7-6 in a tiebreaker before a 6-2 victory in the third set.
With the win, Quinn joins elite company in Georgia’s storied tennis program, now alongside back-to-back winners Mikael Pernfors (1984 and 1985) and Matias Boeker (2001 and 2002) as the only three players in Georgia history to capture the singles crown.
