Quarterback Jacob Eason announces he will transfer from Georgia

Quarterback Jacob Eason made it official by announcing that he will transfer from the Georgia program.

Eason finished the 2017 season as a backup after starting 12 of 13 games as a true freshman the year before. Eason started Georgia's season-opener against Appalachian State but suffered a sprained knee on the third series of the game. When his knee healed, quarterback Jake Fromm was playing well enough to where the coaches decided not to go back to Eason.

Eason announced his decision in a statement posted on Twitter.

"Thank you UGA for an incredible two years," Eason wrote.
