The Atlanta Legends (2-3) played host to the Memphis Express (1-4) on Sunday with former Georgia great Aaron Murray under center for his first professional start.
Coincidentally, the SEC passing leader’s first start came against ex-UGA and former LSU Tigers quarterback Zach Mettenberger, who was originally on the Bulldogs’ 2010 quarterback roster and grew up a Georgia fan before getting dismissed by Coach Mark Richt.
Even more ironic, Mettenberger’s mother, worked for the University of Georgia’s athletics department at the time of that storied meeting ‘Tween the Hedges’.
The infamous Georgia-LSU instant classic of 2013 featured both AAF quarterbacks of course, with the less-anticipated rematch taking place at Georgia State Stadium Sunday.
