Pair of Georgia tight ends injured during second spring scrimmage

ATHENS, Ga. – Georgia tight ends Isaac Nauta and Jeb Blazevich were injured during the Bulldogs’ second spring scrimmage Saturday.

Bulldogs coach Kirby Smart said Nauta “dinged” his shoulder and will undergo X-rays, while Blazevich sprained his knee.

Smart was “not really sure” the extent of Nauta’s injury and didn’t believe Blazevich’s to be serious.

Nauta and Blazevich are Georgia’s top tight ends.

Smart also said redshirt freshman offensive tackle Ben Cleveland and freshman defensive back Deangelo Gibbs did not participate in the scrimmage because of injuries.

Smart said Gibbs was day-to-day after confirming that he injured his shoulder during Thursday’s practice but seemed to say that he still could return by next week’s G-Day spring game.
