ATHENS, Ga. – Georgia does not recruit many players from west of the Mississippi River, and senior outside linebacker Chuks Amaechi considers himself lucky to be with the program.
“Coming from Arizona, where not a lot of kids . . . get recruited by the Southeastern Conference – to be able to be looked at from a prestigious conference like the SEC is a humbling experience,” Amaechi said.
Amaechi is from Avondale, Ariz., a Phoenix suburb. He and true freshman quarterback Jacob Eason – from Lake Stevens, Wash., about 40 miles northeast of Seattle – are the only Bulldogs from the West Coast.
