Georgia coach Kirby Smart admitted he kept a close eye on Nick Chubb during his first couple of runs Saturday.

They came early in the Bulldogs’ first preseason scrimmage and marked the first time the star junior running back carried the ball in the closest thing to a game-type environment since his season-ending knee injury on Oct. 10 at Tennessee.
The scrimmage was closed to the media, but Smart said Chubb got seven or eight carries.
