Georgia defensive tackle Trenton Thompson is heading to the NFL.
Thompson announced Friday on Instagram that he is bypassing his senior season.
“Playing in the NFL has been a lifelong dream of mine and I’m excited to see what the future holds,” he wrote.
Thompson (6 feet 4, 295 pounds) finishes his career with 127 tackles, 5.5 sacks, 15.5 tackles for loss and three passes defended. He left Georgia during the spring semester of 2017 to deal with a personal matter, and his junior season wasn’t as good as his sophomore campaign, when he had five sacks and 9.
