The Georgia men’s golf team came in third on Tuesday in the Puerto Rico Classic.
In Tuesday’s final round on Rio Mar River Course’s par-72, 6,902-yard layout, the Bulldogs posted a field-best 8-under 280 to land at 19-under 845. Georgia Tech claimed the top spot at 32-under 832 and Oklahoma finished second at 30-under 834.
Sophomore Trent Phillips paced the Bulldogs on Tuesday as he signed for a 6-under 66, the lowest loop of the day. Phillips’ round included an eagle and six birdies. Junior Davis Thompson and freshman Connor Creasy added 1-under 71s, followed by senior Will Chandler at even-par 72.
