Georgia is having an incredible season defensively, but statistically, Missouri’s defense isn’t far behind.
The Tigers are currently ranked 11th in total defense and allow just 157.4 yards per game through the air. This may seem intimidating (and to a certain extent, it is), but Missouri’s main defensive weakness is the category in which Georgia excels most.
Mizzou gives up 136.9 yards rushing per game, and that could very well be their undoing against a run-first offense like the Bulldogs’. During their two-game losing streak, the Tigers have felt the absence of star senior middle linebacker Cale Garrett, who had season-ending surgery in October after tallying north of 100 tackles in his past two seasons in Columbia.
