Former Georgia linebacker Lorenzo Carter is ready to take on the role of being the ‘alpha’ up front for the New York Giants in 2019.
“Up front we need an alpha,’’ Carter said after the team’s mandatory minicamp earlier this week, via The Post. “I’m looking forward to trying to do that.’’
In January, the Giants hired James Bettcher as the franchise’s new defensive coordinator. During minicamp, he had only good things to say about Carter, a 2018 third round draft pick.
“He is rushing with a plan,’’ Bettcher said after the team’s minicamp.
