There were not a lot of surprises during Kirby Smart’s post game press conference following George’s 21-0 win over the Kentucky Wildcats. Smart noted that a game like this requires patience from the players and the coaches in every aspect of the game. He felt that the team that responded best to the elements would be the team that won. Given Kentucky’s late turnovers and special-teams miscues, it is hard to argue with that.
What may be more controversial was Smart’s take on his offense, particularly the play calling. The top ‘Dawg said he feels really good about his offense, and declined to draw any judgments on some of the issues (receiver separation, winning contested balls) he highlighted for improvement last week.
