Kirby Smart was told during a news conference before the start of preseason practices Monday that heralded freshman Jacob Eason was “the clear fan favorite,” as the starting quarterback.

So, the question was posed to him, does that impact his decision at all?
“Do the fans impact my decision?” the first-year Georgia coach said. “Absolutely not. They can go out there and cheer and scream for him but I’ve got to make the best decision for this team.
