Keith Marshall will not return to Georgia in 2016

The Georgia Southern game will be Marshall's final home game.

The once promising career of running back Keith Marshall is nearing its completion, as head coach Mark Richt announced the redshirt junior running plans to leave the team following the completion of the season.

“He just wants to move on and take his shot at the NFL,” Richt said Tuesday.

Marshall had been a candidate to receive a fifth-year of eligibility, however the Georgia running back has declined to pursue that option.

After a promising 2012 freshman campaign, which saw Marshall accumulate 850 total yards and nine touchdowns, three injury-riddled seasons resulted in Marshall only gaining 525 rushing yards and six touchdowns.
