Georgia’s 2021 class got a boost this afternoon with the commitment of 4-Star outside linebacker Jamon Dumas-Johnson. Dumas-Johnson is out of Baltimore. After Georgia signed 5-Star Mekhail Sherman out of D.C. last year, he would be the second straight blue-chip linebacker the Dawgs have signed out of the Baltimore-Washington D.C. area.
Dumas-Johnson can cover the field from sideline to sideline out of his middle linebacker spot, and that very well could be the reason Kirby Smart and Dan Lanning wanted him so badly. With so many offenses running forms of the spread these days, speed and coverage ability are traits that Smart and Lanning prioritize in their linebackers.
