After Oconee County linebacker Jaleel Laguins made his verbal commitment to Georgia, he bowed his head and covered his face with his hand.
His family wrapped their arms around him and the emotion of his decision, finally made public to his family and his friends on Wednesday, was clear.
“Once I got the first offer, I knew I was going to be happy wherever I went,” Laguins said. “But knowing that I’m going to get that college degree, it makes me happy. It makes me happy for them.”
Laguins says he’ll be the first one in his family to get a college degree.
