For some casual Bulldogs fans, the actual rules of tennis, or how matches are scored may be a bit unfamiliar.
The fact is, all of that is irrelevant this week with millions of eyes trained on the All England Club.
A banner year for UGA athletics keeps on keeping on.
John Isner, one of the most storied players to come through the Bulldogs tennis program, continues to make history at Wimbledon. Wednesday’s 6-7 (5), 7-6 (7), 6-4, 6-3 win against Canada’s Milos Raonic advanced Isner to his first Grand Slam semifinal.
Isner will be aiming to become the first former Georgia men’s tennis player to advance to the finals of a Grand Slam singles event since Mikael Pernfors made the finals of the French Open in 1986.
