ATHENS, Ga.— It has finally happened! Georgia is on the board for recording an interception during the 2017 season.
Coming into last Saturday’s game against Mississippi State, Kirby Smart voiced his concern about not being able to pull in one of these takeaways. Junior cornerback Deandre Baker and senior safety Dominick Sanders helped end that drought.
Smart, a former defensive back himself, has be belief about interceptions.
“They come in bunches, like we always say,” Smart said. “Tips and overthrows; we want to get all of those we can get.”
Georgia hopes to have started this trend at the right time as it heads into Neyland Stadium to take on Tennessee Saturday.
