Rams team writer Myles Simmons has an entertaining writeup of Todd Gurley’s winding journey from JV linebacker in Tarboro, North Carolina to NFL rookie of the year.
One of the more entertaining passages is the brief discussion of Gurley’s decidion to attend Georgia, including a reminder that Gurley may not have been discovered in time to beat out the competition had not Bryan McClendon been kicking around the Tarheel State looking at other prospects first, and put in the work to build a relationship with one of the most singularly gifted in a long line of gifted tailbacks to come through Athens.
