Gym Dogs earn top score in SEC afternoon session

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. | The eighth-ranked Gymdogs (8-8, 7-3) put together a complete performance in session one of the SEC Championship, winning the afternoon competition with a score of 196.850 on Saturday in North Little Rock’s Verizon Arena.

Georgia bested No. 13 Arkansas’ 196.500, No. 22 Kentucky’s 196.200 and No. 20 Missouri’s 195.750 to claim the best score in the early session.

The four remaining SEC schools – No. 2 Florida, No. 3 LSU, No. 4 Alabama and No. 6 Auburn – competed in the evening session.

“We asked the team to really start strong on vault and they did that,” said Georgia head coach Danna Durante.
