ATLANTA -- Georgia starting quarterback Carson Beck will not return to Saturday's SEC championship game against Texas after injuring his right shoulder on the final play of the first half, head coach Kirby Smart told ESPN's Holly Rowe.

Sophomore Gunner Stockton started the second half at quarterback for Georgia at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, while Beck was late leaving the locker room. He was carrying his helmet and walked to the sideline.

With the No. 5 Bulldogs trailing the No. 2 Longhorns 6-3, Georgia faced first-and-5 at the Texas 42 with one second to play.
