Georgia wide receiver Riley Ridley could have marijuana charges dropped if he completes a year-long pretrial diversion program, his attorney says.
Attorney David Crowe told the Macon (Ga.) Telegraph that Ridley is a first-time offender and had no prior trouble with the law, which makes eligible for such a program. Ridley will have to report to the program for six months, then have a six-month non-reporting period. If he successfully completes the program, the charges will be dismissed.
Ridley was arrested in March. He was the passenger in a car whose driver was pulled over after a near-accident with another vehicle in the Athens area.
