ATHENS, Ga. – Georgia sophomore wide receiver Riley Ridley was spotted at practice for the first time this spring Saturday.
Ridley working off to the side with a sports medicine staffer while the team warmed up on the field ahead of its first spring scrimmage in Sanford Stadium. He was wearing a black non-contact jersey, including shoulder pads and a helmet.
It originally was believed when the Bulldogs began spring practice last month that Ridley’s absence was because of an arrest for marijuana possession. It was later learned and then confirmed by coach Kirby Smart that he was being held out while recovering from an offseason foot surgery.
