Georgia transfer Faton Bauta named Colorado State starter

One former Georgia quarterback has chosen another ex-Bulldogs quarterbak as his starter – even though they’re 1,500 miles from Athens.

Georgia graduate transfer Faton Bauta has been named starting quarterback at Colorado State, a move announced by former Bulldogs quarterback and offensive coordinator Mike Bobo.

Bauta took over for junior Nick Stevens during the season-opener, a 44-7 loss to state rival Colorado that opened the season on a decidedly unfavorable note for fans in Fort Collins. Bauta’s first start will come against UT San Antonio.

Bauta was 6-of-9 with a touchdown and no interceptions, while Stevens went 6-of-20 for 31 yards and a pair of picks.
