In late June, Georgia signee Matthew Boling received news that he had won the Gatorade National Boys Track and Field Player of the Year Award.
On Tuesday night, Boling was in Los Angeles to accept the award, where Gatorade athletes Todd Gurley and Sony Michel were also in attendance.
Boling, a graduate of Strake Jesuit in Houston, Texas, is regarded as the fastest high school sprinter of all-time. In April, Boling accomplished something no other high schooler has ever done in the 100m – set an all-time all conditions best of 9.98 seconds.
In addition, he won another state title in the long jump, another in the 4×400 relay and added USA Track & Field U20 titles in the 100m and 200m to his long list of achievements.
