His decision to leave wasn’t all that surprising given the uncertainty surrounding the Miami Hurricanes’s coaching staff. The ‘Canes fired Al Golden as its head coach in October, and there is no indication, as of yet, who will take his place. That said, McCloud made it clear that he was wavering, even then, and other schools began to step up their efforts to get back in touch with him.
