It was a scary sight for the Mathis family and Dawg fans everywhere that Thursday night in May. Freshman Georgia quarterback D’wan Mathis was rushed to Piedmont Athens Regional hospital where he underwent emergency surgery to remove a cyst from his brain late this May.
Mathis was taken there for sinus pain he was experiencing, but after receiving an MRI, it was soon discovered he had the cyst. He went into surgery that night and thankfully it went just as planned.
In an interview with the DawgNation, Mathis’ father Terence said, “I can’t tell you how thankful I am my son is at the University of Georgia.
