The Georgia Bulldog coaching staff saved their Fourth of July fireworks for the Fifth, securing the commitment of IMG Academy defensive end Robert Beal.
Beal, a Norcross native, had favored Georgia for some time over childhood favorite Notre Dame (from whom he decommitted in November) so the commitment itself wasn’t terribly surprising. Nevertheless it’s big news. The 6’3 ½, 230 pound defensive end/outside linebacker is rated the #8 player in the state of Florida by 247Sports and had been rated a top 10 player in Georgia as well before transferring to the Bradenton, Florida football training ground that produced 2016 signee Isaac Nauta.
