The SEC’s lone finalist for the Butkus Award is Georgia inside linebacker Roquan Smith.
Smith is up for the award given to the nation’s best linebacker. The Bulldogs standout is joined by Michigan’s Devin Bush, Virginia Tech’s Tremaine Edminds, Wisconsin’s T.J. Edwards and Clemson’s Dorian O’Daniel as finalists.
The junior junior from Montezuma, Ga. is currently the team leader in tackles, with 91; he also has 3.5 sacks.
Smith is additionally a finalist for the Nagurski Trophy (top college defensive player) and a semifinalist for the Bednarik Award (top college defensive player).
