Georgia LB Roquan Smith could miss spring practice

Georgia linebacker Roquan Smith is in danger of missing all of spring practice after having surgery to repair damage ligaments in his wrist.

The Macon (Ga.) Telegraph reported that the injury happened in the Bulldogs’ 24-17 win over Penn State in the January 2 TaxSlayer Bowl.

Smith’s injury could put him behind in his quest to earn a starting job. Fellow rising sophomore Natrez Patrick and seniors-to-be Reggie Carter and Tim Kimbrough are the others who figure to be in the mix for the two inside spots.

Smith finished the 2015 season with 20 tackles and 1.
