Georgia searched far and wide to get wide receiver Ahkil Crumpton, and coaches seem optimistic that he’s the right fit.
Bulldogs coach Kirby Smart said Crumpton, a junior college transfer who also is a return specialist, is an upgrade to the roster.
“We combed the country looking for an elite returner,” Smart said. “We didn’t feel like we had an elite returner. … So when that situation arises, you try to fix your roster as fast as you can.”
Crumpton enrolled Sunday after announcing on July 18 he would attend Georgia and practiced Monday on the first day of practice of Georgia’s preseason camp.
