New England running back Sony Michel will miss the balance of his first preseason and possibly the beginning of the regular season with a knee injury, per Jeff Howe of The Athletic.
Michel, New England’s 2018 first round draft choice (31st overall), had minor surgery on his knee to drain fluid after he tweaked it during practice Wednesday.
Per local media reports, Michel was having an outstanding rookie camp and was expected to immediately contribute to the Patriots offense.
Michel suffered a torn ACL as a sophomore at American Heritage (Plantation, FL) and experienced minor knee issues while at Georgia
Michel graduated from Georgia third on the Bulldogs, career rushing list with 3,613 yards.
