Unlike previous weeks, it wasn’t easy to choose a play of the game for the Dawg’s 49-7 victory over Middle Tennessee. After all, Georgia football scored six touchdowns and had seven plays of at least 20 yards.
But perhaps no play electrified the crowd while also having an impact on the rest of the season as much as Mecole Hardman’s 70-yard punt return for a touchdown. Yes, this is the second-straight week the do-everything star from Elbert County has claimed the Dawn of the Dawg play of the week.
The return happened after head coach Kirby Smart had scolded Hardman for passing up on returning a punt that stopped at the Georgia six-yard-line.
