Georgia Football – Kirby Smart wins Coach of The Year

Georgia Football head coach Kirby Smart had yet another accomplishment added to his already impressive young head coaching resume this past week. He was named the Maxwell Football Club collegiate football Coach of the Year. He adds that to his SEC Coach of the year award from earlier this season.

He took an 8-5 team that fell short of expectations and just a season later led many of the same players to a 13-2 record. That includes an SEC East championship, an SEC championship, UGA’s first berth in the playoffs, a Rose Bowl win against the Oklahoma Sooners, and the Dawgs first appearance in a national title game since 1983.
