I was getting a bite to eat when my phone flashed a surprising alert: “Georgia fires Mark Richt”. Needless to say I was shocked to find out that the coach that played such a pivotal role in setting the expectations, most have come to embrace as Bulldog fans, would no longer beat the helm.
It is truly the end of an era, and no matter how you feel about the decision to let Richt go, I feel respect must be shown for what he was able to do during his time at Georgia.
It’s easy to say it “was time” and this “was needed”, and maybe that will prove to be true (in time) when all is said and done.
