Georgia sophomore defensive back Major Burns entered the transfer portal a few weeks ago and is now transferring to LSU. The former four-star recruit announced the decision via his Twitter account.
Major Burns, who has signed to confirm his decision, will be much closer to home as he is from Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Burns’ departure further depletes the depth of Georgia’s secondary.
Christopher Smith and Lewis Cine return as Georgia’s starting safety duo from the end of last season, but Burns was slated to be the No. 3 safety. Georgia did add a key transfer in Tykee Smith, who is considered one of the top defensive backs in the country.
