ATHENS, Ga. — Georgia defensive lineman Tyler Clark was part of a group that surrendered 237 rushing yards to Auburn on Saturday in a 40-17 loss.
Clark and his fellow defensive linemen were upset. So was coach Kirby Smart, who told his players about his displeasure.
“Hurt me to my heart to hear coach tell me that,” Clark said. “But you know, you’ve just got to keep working hard each and every day at practice.”
The Bulldogs’ defense gave up 488 yards of total offense — 176 more than it had surrendered in any other game this season and only the second time Georgia allowed more than 300 yards.
