Georgia announced Sunday afternoon that it has released offensive lineman signee D’Antne Demery from his national letter of intent following a Saturday night arrest.
The school’s decision came just over an hour after he was released from Athens-Clarke County Jail at 1:03 p.m. on bonds totaling $1,850.
Demery, 19, was arrested and charged on misdemeanor counts of criminal trespass and simple battery following an incident with the mother of his one-month-old child. He was booked into the Athens-Clarke County jail at 10:52 p.m.
Demery allegedly made physical contact with the victim in front of Boar’s Head in downtown Athens.
