Georgia basketball has had a lot of great players over the last few years, but none of them compare to the record-breaking player from Pontiac, Michigan. Yante Maten played power forward and center for the hoop Dawgs in Athens, where he scored 1,886 career points. Maten’s scoring got him to 2nd place on the all-time scoring list at Georgia as well.
After deciding to test the waters of the NBA Draft last year, Maten did not sign with an agent so that he could return to now former head coach Mark Fox and the Bulldogs. Maten led Georgia with 636 points last season after recovering from an injury in the 2016-17 season.
