It’s fair to say the 2019-20 Georgia basketball team failed to live up to expectations.
A second season with head coach Tom Crean and a No. 11 recruiting class led by superstar Anthony Edwards had fans believing Georgia basketball could make a run at the NCAA Tournament. For 13 games, the Bulldogs were meeting those expectations.
Then, after an outstanding 10-3 record in non-conference play, Georgia crumbled against SEC competition, immediately losing 10 of its first 12 games. A run of three wins in four games late in the season entertained fans and a win over Ole Miss in the canceled SEC Tournament ended the season on a high note, but they weren’t enough to satisfy a fanbase that expected a long-awaited return to the NCAA Tournament.
