The college baseball season may have just ended, but that doesn’t mean the fun has to stop just yet. Summer league teams are starting back up and tournament play with Team USA has just begun.
Though fall practices are far away, the Diamond Dawgs are keeping themselves quite busy this ‘offseason’. Rising sophomore pitcher Cole Wilcox was awarded a spot on the 24-man, 2019 USA Collegiate National Team roster Tuesday and a handful of other players are keeping themselves on the field in collegiate summer leagues.
Last season, the Bulldogs did not have anyone make the 24-man roster, but with the departures of Tony Locey and Tim Elliott to the MLB Draft, seeing Wilcox’s name amongst the nation’s best will certainly bring confidence into the new year.
