Georgia AD Greg McGarity: Bulldogs will wear black jerseys in 2016

Finally, there’s official confirmation.

Georgia athletic director Greg McGarity told DawgNation.com Tuesday that the Bulldogs will wear black jerseys this upcoming season.

“We already have them,” McGarity said. “It will be one game a year. It’s not that big a deal; it’s one of our team colors. But we still think our red jersey is one of the best in college football.”

McGarity said that Bulldogs coach Kirby Smart would determine which game the jerseys are worn ahead of time. He added that he wasn’t sure if Smart had yet made that decision.

“Whenever the black jerseys are worn, people will know well in advance of it,” McGarity said.
